Flinders Chase National Park promises spectacular scenery and fascinating wildlife

When it comes to providing fascinating, diverse and unforgettable holidays, Australia truly tops the charts. It sometimes seems that you do not have enough time to visit all the amazing marvels that this continent offers and while places like the Great Barrier Reef and Cairns are the popular natural retreats, Kangaroo Island, located 112km away from the coast of Adelaide offers a truly remarkable getaway.

The third largest island away from the mainland of Australia, Kangaroo Island is home to the famous Flinders Chase National Park — which is nothing short of breathtaking.

While Australia is famous world over for the uniqueness of its wildlife a trip to the Flinders Chase National Park offers a lot more than the usual holidays in Australia. Along with a chance to see a wide variety of both wetland and forest wildlife, you will also get a glimpse of the seals basking in its vast coastline. But that is still far from the highlight of a trip to this protected area. It is the stunning geographical formations of the region that have captivated professional photographers and casual visitors from world over, and probably amongst the reasons why holidays in Australia are so sough after.

Carved out by the wind, rain and waves for over 500 million years the cliffs and rock formations of the region startle and amaze you with their various forms that at times seem to defy gravity. Remarkable Rocks is a structure of naturally weathered formations that seem to be balanced ever so delicately on granite base while Admiral Arch has been shaped by the waves of ocean over many, many centuries.

The park is open all year and you can enjoy both relaxing and visually exhilarating walks as you enjoy the rare and audacious topography of the region. And yes, the kangaroos and the Koalas are all still there along with even a few of the endangered species, for those who prefer wildlife to geography.
