To work or not to work?
If you have only recently become a parent or your children are about to begin pre-school for the very first time, you may wish to consider a part time job whilst they are studying. Such a role will allow you make an income but it will also allow you to spend more time with your children when they are at home.
Part time work is generally preferred by both students and women with young families and will usually require the employee to work between 10 and 30 hours per week.
The beauty of part time work is that it is generally flexible and those that wish to entertain the work can often work the hours around their lifestyles.
For example someone studying will probably need most of their days free, they will therefore require a job position that allows them to work either weekends or evenings. Those with young children however will require a position that allows them to work when the kids are at school, or in childcare, and one that will allow them to be at home when their children are.
There are many advantages of part time work; of course the main advantage is the time gained, which allows you to spend a lot more time with your family. A full time job on the other hand will require you to get up early in order to make it on time to the office and often not get home till late due to traffic or a long and tiring commute.
The time saved by cutting out the above will allow you to take part in other activities throughout the week, this could mean pursuing other interests such as new hobbies, a sport, community service or a study course.
